FD 310

Latest addition to the FD Series Robotic Fluid Dispenser lineup from Aim Robotics.
Uses compressed air to feed the dosing pump without affecting the dosing quality.
Designed for Silicones, Acrylics, Adhesives, Polymers and many other fluids that come in classic 310ml cartridges. Proven +/- 1% repeatability with Dowsil 7091

FD High-V

The FD Series Dispenser for high volume applications. Uses an external feed system for feeding the dosing pump. Works great with light to high viscosity fluids.
Maintains modular design – allows to switch to FD 310 or FD 400 easily. *Food Safe.

FD 400

The Original Aim Robotics Dispenser – FD400 – no use of air, all-in-one system.
Design to work with 400ml/gr grease cartridges with automatic dosing speed increase while dispensing. (+/- 10% repeatability, better possible with additional fluid testing)
Can be adapted to take 310gr/ml cartridges for use with easy flowing fluids (acrylics, some silicones)

Exchangeable Auger Screws

3 different size auger screws allow FD Series dispensers to be the perfect fit for most applications:

  • 5mm pitch – used when either additional inherit flow resistance is required and/or a finer deposit rate control is required. Lowest flow rate.
  • 7.5mm pitch – appropriate for most applications. Inherit resistance and material flow are moderate.
  • 10mm pitch – used when high flow rates and low resistance to flow are required.

Dispenser Features

The FD Series Material Dispensers use screw pump principle to dispense medium to high viscosity fluids precisely and with high reproducibility.

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)'s

What size cartridges can I fit?

FD Series dispensers support 310ml and 400ml cartridges out of the box, yet larger cartridge support is available upon request.

What is the deposit repeatability of FD Series?

For FD 310 and FD High-V dispensers in worst case you can expect +/-5% deposit variance. This goes down to +/- 1% with constant feed setup. (constant, clean feed air pressure)

FD400 has a Full2Empty deposit variance of 30% out-of-box. This is due to the nature of it’s feeding mechanism: a pre-loaded spring.** Therefore FD400 is suggested to be used in conditions where highly repeatable deposit amount isn’t critical (greasing/lubing of parts, decorating cakes)

**This can be solved with correct programming setup – increasing dispensing speed every X-paths dispensed.

Can I switch between FD 400 to FD310 and to FD High-V?

Yes, all Aim Robotics material dispensers are modular by nature.
If you have purchased a FD400, you have 2 options:

  • Purchase FD-HighV adapt kit to support external feed systems
  • Purchase FD310-adapt-kit to support 310ml cartridges and external feed systems

Do FD Series Material Dispensers support 2K (2 component) materials?

No, there is no native support for 2K dispensing with FD Series Material Dispensers.
Custom setups are possible, please contact us for more details.

What are the requirements for FD310 Material Dispenser?

To ensure best possible results: clean, dry, pre-regulated (7 BAR/100 PSI MAX) air supply is necessary.
We offer Aim Robotics Air Treatment Kit, which enables highest reproducibility from our test lab to your manufacturing site.

What is a common FD High-V setup?

FD High-V can be used with any external feed system as long as a constant regulated inlet pressure can be achieved.

Low to Medium viscosity fluids – Top Ported Reservoir Tank

Medium to High viscosity fluids – Bottom Ported Reservoir Tank

Inlet pressure (outlet for the feed system) is measured at the inlet of the FD High-V dispenser. Remember to account for large pressure drop in feed pipes, contact us for more info/help.

What inlet pressure should I use?

FD series dispensers normally operate between 0.5-3 BAR inlet material pressure, depending on material and nozzle choice.

For High-V setups, this is the pressure of material at the end of the feed line (where it connects to the tool)

For FD 310 systems we typically see 0.2-3 BAR of air pressure.

What is normal dispensing speed?

All FD series Material Dispensers have a 0-100% dispensing speed scale.

Depending on material, feed screw and nozzle setup, you would normally use speeds from 15-50%.

Generally:

  • Greases, Lubricants and alike: 25-80%
  • Acrylics, light duty sealants and alike: 25-50%
  • RTV’s, Silicones, Adhesives, Polymers and alike: 10-30%

Do Aim Robotics tools work on other than UR robots?

Yes. absolutely.

For now, full integration is available only with UR platform (URCaps, nice GUI by Aim Robotics)

Yet as our RS485 protocol is open, all Aim Robotics tools can be used on any robot in any installation.

Robot requirements:

  • MODBUS TCP or USB support
  • 24V 0.6A RMS capable power supply
